PHILADELPHIA – Le'Veon Moss, a standout player from Texas A&M, has been named to the Maxwell Midseason Watch List, as announced by the Maxwell Football Club on Thursday. The Maxwell Award is an accolade presented annually to the College Player of the Year.

Moss has been a key element in the Aggies’ offensive strategy, currently ranking second in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and 17th nationally, averaging 101.5 rushing yards per game. He leads the league with an impressive 6.9 yards per carry. The junior running back has accumulated 88 carries for a total of 609 yards, making him fifth in the SEC with six rushing touchdowns. Notably, Moss has surpassed 100 yards in three games and scored multiple touchdowns in two of them. Recent highlights include career-high performances with 117 rushing yards on 13 carries against Arkansas and 138 yards on 12 carries, alongside three touchdowns, in a victory over No. 9 Missouri.

A native of Walker, Louisiana, Moss has totaled 1,207 yards and 12 touchdowns on 211 carries over his career. He is one of five running backs on the watch list, which includes 17 players.

The Maxwell Award, inaugurated in 1937, is named after Robert "Tiny" Maxwell, a former Swarthmore College player and respected sportswriter and official. This year marks the 88th anniversary of the award. The selection process involves collaboration with Pro Football Focus (PFF) and Phil Steele Publications, known for providing detailed player assessments. Several PFF analysts are part of the selection committee.

Semifinalists for the award will be declared on November 12, followed by the announcement of three finalists on November 26. The winner of the 88th Maxwell Award will be revealed during the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 12. The formal presentation will occur at the Maxwell Football Club Awards on March 14, 2025, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.

With Texas A&M now on a five-game winning streak and boasting a 3-0 record against SEC teams, the contributions of Le’Veon Moss have not gone unnoticed. According to Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, “He’s our MVP.” Moss, who is averaging over 100 yards per game this season, is seen as one of the top running backs in the country, which is reflected in his nomination for the Maxwell Award.
