Villanova Women’s Basketball Signs Guard Marie-Denise Ntambue

VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania — Villanova women’s basketball announced on May 7 that guard Marie-Denise Ntambue has officially signed with the program. The announcement follows her initial commitment on February 16.
Ntambue, a 5-foot-9 guard from Crestwood Preparatory School in Toronto, Ontario, has also participated in the Canada Elite program, which is a member of the Under Armor Association. Head coach Denise Dillon spoke about her skills, stating, “I think your best teams are when you have multiple people on the floor who are comfortable handling the ball.”
Ntambue is one of four high school recruits joining the Wildcats this year. Along with her, the other three recruits have also signed as of May 7. Villanova’s team experienced some changes this offseason, losing only one player to the transfer portal and seeing five graduates. The player who transferred is not named.
Notably, Ntambue will team up with rising sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe, who is also from Canada. Bascoe earned accolades like Big 5 Freshman of the Year and was selected to the Big East All-Freshman team.
To further build their roster, Villanova has added two players from the transfer portal, although their names have not been disclosed. The team currently has one remaining open roster spot.
