Vince Morales Ufc Fight Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Bantamweight fighter Vince Morales is gearing up for a crucial matchup against Elijah Smith at UFC Vegas 102 on Saturday, February 15, 2025. After facing a setback in September, where he lost a decision to Taylor Lapilus in Paris, Morales is determined to bounce back and secure victories this year.

The Las Vegas native, who is now 34, reflects on his career with optimism. “Anytime I get a fight, I’m like, you know what? At least this or at least that,” Morales expressed. “I just make a whole bunch of positives out of it. That’s how I run with it.” His previous fight, which should have marked a triumphant return after a successful run of five wins and four finishes outside the UFC, ended in disappointment but did not diminish his resolve.

Morales acknowledges that part of his struggle in the Octagon has been due to consistently taking short-notice fights. “I wasn’t leaving parts of me out there to really show who I am,” he explained, emphasizing the importance of full training camps. “Doing things right and making sure all my chips are in—that’s the goal for this fight. I want to be a good representation of the sport.” His fight with Smith represents an opportunity to showcase his skills and experience against a promising 22-year-old newcomer.

As he looks to establish himself in the bantamweight division, Morales remains confident in his abilities. “I’m still right there. For whatever reason, that fight didn’t deter me. Somewhere in my mind, I’m like, it’s not that I really lost, I just ran out of time,” he said, referring to his previous match. Morales aims to secure multiple wins in succession this year to boost his earning potential, stating, “I’m trying to make a quarter million dollars, so that means I’m bonus hunting every single fight.” He is focused on showing the UFC and fans the best version of himself.

The fight card will take place at the UFC APEX, with prelims starting at 4 PM ET and the main card kicking off at 7 PM ET. Morales looks forward to stepping into the cage once again and is eager to begin what he hopes will be a successful and financially rewarding year.
