The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony, scheduled for October 28 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, is set to reveal the best footballer of the past season. This prestigious award, presented by France Football, has several top contenders vying for the honor.

Vinicius Junior, the Brazilian winger for Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team, is widely regarded as the favorite to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or. His outstanding performance in the 2023-2024 season, including 24 goals and nine assists in 39 games for Real Madrid, and his crucial role in the team’s Champions League victory, have made him a strong candidate. Vinicius also scored decisive goals in the Champions League semifinals and final, further solidifying his position.

Dani Carvajal, the captain of Real Madrid and a key player for the Spanish national team, is another notable contender. Carvajal had a stellar season, scoring six goals and providing six assists in 41 games for Real Madrid. He was instrumental in the team’s success, including winning the Champions League, La Liga, and the Eurocopa with Spain.

Rodri Hernández, the Spanish midfielder for Manchester City and the Spanish national team, is also in the running. Rodri played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s Premier League, Supercopa de Europa, and FIFA Club World Cup victories. He also contributed significantly to Spain’s Eurocopa win, making him a strong candidate for the award.

Jude Bellingham, who had an impressive first season with Real Madrid, is another contender. Bellingham scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists, helping Real Madrid win the Champions League, La Liga, and the Supercopa de España. His performance with the English national team, although not as successful in the Eurocopa final, still earns him a spot among the top favorites.

The list of nominees includes 30 players, with a notable absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, marking the first time since 2003 that neither of these stars is in the running. Other notable nominees include Lautaro Martínez, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

According to leaked information, Vinicius Junior has secured the top spot with 630 points, followed by Rodri Hernández with 576 points, and Jude Bellingham in third place with 422 points.
