Virginia Wide Receiver Malik Washington Earns All America Honors For Stellar Performance

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Malik Washington, the talented wide receiver for the University of Virginia‘s football team, has earned further recognition for his outstanding performance during the 2023 season. Washington has been named to College Football News‘ third team All-America, marking his impressive tally of 13 All-America selections this award season.

Washington, a graduate transfer from Northwestern, made a significant impact on the field for the UVA Cavaliers. Setting an ACC record with 110 receptions and a UVA record of 1,426 yards, Washington demonstrated his exceptional skills throughout the season.

In addition to his records, Washington achieved several remarkable milestones. With 110 receptions, he led all FBS pass catchers and secured the title for the most receptions in a single season in UVA football history. Furthermore, he achieved a school-record 10 100-yard receiving games. Washington’s performance extended beyond his receptions, as he also caught nine touchdowns, including multi-TD games against NC State and Duke.

One of the standout moments for Washington was his game-winning touchdown in UVA’s 31-27 victory over then-No.10 North Carolina on October 22. His exceptional play contributed to the team’s success and further solidified his position as one of the top wide receivers in college football.

Recognizing his excellence, Washington was named a semifinalist for the prestigious Biletnikoff Award, which honors the nation’s top college receiver, and he was also a finalist for the Pop Warner College Football Award.

This latest All-America honor adds to the already impressive list of accolades for Washington, including recognition from prestigious media outlets such as the Action Network, AFCA, Associated Press, ESPN, Fox Sports, FWAA, Phil Steele, Pro Football Focus, Sports Illustrated, Sports Info Solutions, and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
