Wanderers face another difficult call on three key players for Saturday’s home game against Port Vale. The trio of Josh Sheehan, Gethin Jones, and Ricardo Santos were all rested due to injuries on medical advice for the recent 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury Town.

Ian Evatt expressed disappointment at having to make these decisions, especially as it likely dashed their hopes of automatic promotion.

Sheehan was on the bench but reported a pre-existing injury before the match, ruling him out from participation. Santos had excelled against Pompey while nursing a calf issue, with Jones also struggling after a hip injury sustained on international duty.

Evatt emphasized the need to listen to the medical team’s advice to avoid aggravating the players’ conditions and risking their availability for the playoffs.
