Golden State Warriors Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report April 2025

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Golden State Warriors will take on the Memphis Grizzlies in a vital Western Conference matchup tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET at the FedEx Forum. With playoff implications on the line, both teams are vying for crucial positioning as the season approaches its final stretch.

The Warriors (43-31) are currently on a pivotal six-game road trip and are looking to secure a win that would propel them above the Grizzlies (44-31) into fifth place in the standings. A victory will also give Golden State a tiebreaker advantage for playoff seeding, which is essential as they aim to avoid the play-in tournament.

However, the Warriors will face considerable obstacles as they prepare for the Grizzlies. Both Jonathan Kuminga and Gary Payton II have been listed on the injury report. Kuminga is questionable due to a pelvic contusion sustained in the Warriors’ recent victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Conversely, Payton is out with a left thumb ligament partial tear.

“Kuminga has been a key contributor for us this season, and we will monitor his status closely leading up to the game,” said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. “Each game is critical at this stage, and we need all hands on deck.”

Kuminga, who left the Spurs game with just under seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, has expressed optimism that he will be available. Nonetheless, his absence could place added pressure on his teammates. The Warriors have managed to win seven of their last ten games, but their success may hinge on Kuminga’s availability against a Grizzlies team that has lost three straight matches.

On the Grizzlies’ side, injuries have also plagued the roster. Brandon Clarke is out for the season due to a knee injury, while rookie Zyon Pullin is recovering from a right patellar tendon surgery. John Konchar is listed as questionable due to illness, which could impact Memphis’s depth on the bench.

“We’ve faced a lot of adversity this season, but we are looking to turn things around,” said Grizzlies head coach, who replaced the recently fired Taylor Jenkins. “Every game from here on out is critical.”

The Grizzlies currently find themselves in a precarious position, losing seven of their last ten games. Another defeat could result in a slide towards the play-in tournament, which is a stark contrast to their early-season success. Memphis has struggled to maintain their form, having recently dropped a key matchup that could have bolstered their playoff positioning.

This upcoming clash marks an essential moment for both teams as they jockey for playoff position in the tightly contested Western Conference. Fans can expect a competitive game with significant implications, as the Warriors look to build on their positive momentum, while the Grizzlies aim to halt their losing streak.
