SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga left the game against the San Antonio Spurs early after a hard fall, raising concerns among fans and teammates. The incident occurred during the second quarter on Sunday at the Frost Bank Center.

Initially resembling a previous injury he sustained two weeks ago against the Toronto Raptors, Kuminga was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to right ankle soreness, as confirmed by team officials during halftime.

Unlike Stephen Curry, who suffered a pelvic contusion in a prior game, no foul was called on the Spurs during Kuminga’s fall as he drove toward the basket. Witnesses noted he appeared to communicate that he was fine after the fall, mouthing, “I’m OK,” though he walked cautiously toward the locker room accompanied by Warriors director of medical services Drew Yoder.

Sunday’s game marked Kuminga’s ninth appearance following a long absence due to a sprained ankle, which had sidelined him for 31 games earlier this season. During this ongoing 2024-25 NBA campaign, the 22-year-old is averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, alongside 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists against the Sacramento Kings.

While the severity of Kuminga’s aggravated injury remains unclear, Warriors fans, known as Dub Nation, are hoping for a swift recovery for the young forward.
