Wesley Bryan Butterfield Bermuda Championship Course Record

Wesley Bryan made a significant impact in the third round of the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, tying the course record at Port Royal Golf Course with a remarkable 10-under 61. Despite getting only a few hours of sleep after staying up to watch the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match, Bryan’s performance was nothing short of exceptional.

Bryan’s round included six birdies and two eagles, with a strong start on the back nine where he birdied holes 10, 11, 14, and 16, and made a big birdie at the par-5 17th to turn with a 6-under 29. On the front nine, he added two more birdies on Nos. 2 and 6, along with another eagle at the par-5 seventh. Although he needed two birdies on the last two holes to achieve a historic 59, Bryan finished with two pars, still managing to tie the course record.

This outstanding performance catapulted Bryan from 42nd place after the second round to fourth place heading into the final round, just three shots behind the leaders Andrew Novak and Rafael Campos. Bryan, who has previously won on the PGA Tour at the 2017 RBC Heritage, expressed his enjoyment of playing in windy conditions, which he believes brings out more creativity in his game.

Bryan will tee off in the second-to-last group on Sunday, alongside Lucas Glover and Troy Merritt, as he aims to make a strong push for his second PGA Tour victory).
