White Sox Seek Redemption Against Marlins After Tough Kansas City Series

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox open a three-game weekend series against the Miami Marlins on Friday night at Rate Field. The game begins at 7:40 p.m. ET.
The White Sox, led by manager Will Venable, are looking to bounce back after a challenging four-game sweep by the Kansas City Royals. In that series, the Sox were shut out twice and lost two additional games by just one run, bringing their total to a league-high 10 one-run losses this season.
“On a positive side, that you’re in those games and you’re doing a lot of things well to be in that many one-run games. But you also gotta find ways to win those games,” Venable said. “There are different things in each of those games that we could have done better, and that’s what our focus is.”
Despite their dismal record of 10-28, the White Sox remain optimistic. Venable noted the team shows up eager to play each day, regardless of previous outcomes, and maintains a positive mental outlook.
In the matchup against the Marlins, the White Sox hope to improve upon their home record of 7-11. They have performed well at home in games where they hit two or more home runs, holding a 4-1 record in those instances.
The Marlins enter the series with a record of 14-22 and have struggled on the road, managing just four wins out of 14 games. They boast a team batting average of .249, ranking sixth in the National League.
Highlighting standout players, Luis Robert has been a key contributor for the White Sox, hitting three doubles and five home runs. He has a batting line of .269 over the past 10 games with four doubles and four RBIs. For the Marlins, their power hitter currently has six home runs and 25 RBIs this season.
As both teams take the field Friday, fans hope excitement will reignite for the White Sox as they aim to turn their season around against the Marlins.
