Robert Whittaker Reinier De Ridder Ufc Fight Night

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is set to face Reinier de Ridder in the main event of UFC Fight Night on July 26, 2025. This matchup comes after Whittaker’s recent first-round submission loss to Khamzat Chimaev in October 2024.

Whittaker, who holds a record of 26 wins and 8 losses, suffered a dental injury during his last fight against Chimaev, which halted his momentum after victories over Paulo Costa and Ikram Aliskerov. Now 34 years old, the Australian fighter aims to reclaim his spot in title contention with a win against the formidable De Ridder.

De Ridder, also 34, enters the cage with an impressive record of 20 wins and 2 losses. Known as ‘RDR’, he has gained attention in the UFC after a powerful second-round knockout of Bo Nickal in April 2025. The Dutch fighter has won all three of his fights since signing with the promotion, establishing himself as a top contender.

As both fighters prepare for this pivotal bout, the stakes are high. Whittaker looks to bounce back and solidify his position after a disappointing loss, while De Ridder seeks to continue his winning streak and break into the middleweight rankings.

UFC officials have not confirmed the title defense schedule for current champion Dricus Du Plessis, but he is expected to face Chimaev soon. With exciting matchups on the horizon, UFC Fight Night promises a thrilling showcase of talent.

All eyes will be on Abu Dhabi as Whittaker and De Ridder square off in a fight that could determine the future of both fighters in the middleweight division.
