Will Levis Titans Dolphins

Will Levis, the quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, was sidelined following an apparent injury to his throwing shoulder during Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. The incident occurred in the first quarter when Levis dived headfirst in an attempt to gain yardage and landed awkwardly on his right shoulder.

Initially, Levis stayed in the game and attempted to throw on the sidelines, but he was visibly grimacing as he did so. His injury led to backup quarterback Mason Rudolph replacing him midway through the opening quarter. Prior to his exit, Levis had completed three out of four passes and threw an interception.

This change turned the matchup at Hard Rock Stadium into one led by backup quarterbacks. Tyler Huntley had already stepped in for the Dolphins in place of Tua Tagovailoa, who was sidelined with a head injury. Huntley’s performance was marred by a costly turnover when a backward pass resulted in a fumble recovery for the Titans.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan was non-committal about who would command the team’s offense in the second half, stating, “We’ll see,” when asked if Levis might return. Despite Levis being on the sidelines with his helmet, Callahan opted to continue with Rudolph. By the third quarter, Rudolph had guided the Titans to a 19-6 lead over the Dolphins.

Levis’s injury adds to his challenging season, marked by nine turnovers including six interceptions, the highest in the league. His early-season difficulties raise questions about whether Callahan will persist with Rudolph even if Levis becomes fit to return.
