Willian Leaves Fulham After Two Years

Willian has officially announced that he will not be signing a new contract with Fulham, marking the end of his two-year stint at the club.

At 36 years old, the Brazilian winger had been offered a one-year extension by Fulham, but he chose to explore other opportunities instead. He hasn’t participated in Fulham’s pre-season and officially left the club on July 1.

Before Fulham’s first match of the season against Manchester United, Willian took to Instagram to express his gratitude. He wrote, “I would like to thank Fulham for a wonderful two years. It was special to return to the Premier League and be part of this historic club and amazing fans.”

In his heartfelt post, he also thanked Fulham’s chairman Tony Khan and the board for their respect and kindness during his time at the club. He particularly noted the support he received from coach Marco Silva, stating, “A very special thank you to our coach Marco Silva who showed me a lot of belief and gave me the confidence throughout the time we were together.”

Rumors suggest that Willian may be considering a move abroad, although he hasn’t finalized a deal with any new club yet. Meanwhile, Fulham’s head coach Marco Silva commented on Willian’s decision, saying, “What I can say about Willian is that he took a decision and I will not say anything more about it.”

In the wake of Willian’s departure, Fulham has made headlines by signing a new player for a club record fee of £34 million.
