Cincinnati Weather Radar Rain Wind Advisory

CINCINNATI, Ohio — A Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday for the Cincinnati region, with gusty winds expected to reach 40 mph, accompanied by rain.

Temperatures have soared into the 60s on Tuesday, but a significant drop is anticipated as a cold front sweeps through the area. Rain is expected to arrive around 8 p.m. Tuesday, continuing into the night with the possibility of a thunderstorm until midnight.

According to meteorologist Allison Rogers, gusts will pick up this evening, reaching 25 to 30 mph. “As the steady rain moves in, those winds will intensify, potentially gusting up to 40 mph,” Rogers stated during the afternoon weather update.

The National Weather Service warns residents to prepare for changing conditions, as a transition to snow showers is forecasted for Wednesday night. Light flurries may persist into early Thursday before skies clear later in the day.

On Wednesday, high temperatures will fall from the mid-50s early in the day down to about 40 degrees in the afternoon, signaling an abrupt shift to winter-like weather.

“The storms moving in tonight are expected to bring a variety of weather, including rain and the potential for brief bouts of thunder,” added Rogers. “However, the main concern will shift to windy conditions from late morning through early afternoon on Wednesday as colder air moves in, mixing down stronger winds.”

Residents should expect lingering effects of the storm, with possible light accumulation of snow on elevated surfaces and grass, although major travel disruptions are not anticipated. The weekend forecast suggests further fluctuations, with temperatures staying within the 40s.
