DENVER, Colo. — The Wisconsin Badgers are set to take on the Montana Grizzlies in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with the matchup scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT on March 20, 2025, at Ball Arena. Wisconsin, seeded No. 3 in the East Region, enters the game with a record of 26-9, aiming for a strong performance as they chase the championship.

The Badgers, fresh off winning the Big Ten Conference Tournament, will look to carry their momentum against the No. 14 seed Grizzlies, who come in with an overall record of 25-9. “We’ve played some tough teams this season, and our players are ready for this moment,” said Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard. “It’s all about execution and playing together as a team.”

Wisconsin’s latest statistics show a field goal percentage of 37.5% and a three-point shooting percentage of 37.5%, showcasing their ability to score from various positions on the court. In contrast, Montana boasts a 48% field goal percentage but has struggled with turnovers, averaging four per game.

The Badgers, ranked No. 13 in the AP poll, have five players who can contribute significantly on both offense and defense. They will rely on their star player, Max Klesmit, to lead the scoring, after he recorded 11 points in their recent championship win against Michigan.

“We’re just focused on one game at a time. Montana is a tough opponent, and we respect their game,” said Klesmit. The Grizzlies, having earned their place after a strong conference performance, will also be looking to upset Wisconsin.

This NCAA Tournament features a host of Big Ten teams, with Wisconsin joined by Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Purdue, and UCLA. Five of these teams ranked high in both the AP and USA Today Coaches polls leading into the tournament.

Broadcasts for the game will be available on TNT, and fans can also access coverage through the NCAA March Madness Live app. The stakes are high as both teams aim for glory in this single-elimination showdown, a hallmark of NCAA Tournament excitement.
