WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Wizards extended their losing streak to 15 games Thursday night, falling 82-106 to the Toronto Raptors despite a buzzer-beating shot by Swiss guard Kyshawn George in the fourth quarter.

The loss brings the Wizards perilously close to the franchise record of 16 consecutive defeats set last fall. With a dismal 6-40 record, the team remains the worst in the NBA this season.

George, who returned to the starting lineup, contributed 10 points, making him the team’s third-leading scorer. His highlight-reel buzzer beater at the 8:37 mark of the fourth quarter provided a rare bright spot in an otherwise lopsided game.

“It’s tough to keep losing, but we’re trying to stay positive,” George said after the game. “We’re working hard every day to turn things around.”

The Raptors dominated from the start, outscoring the Wizards in every quarter. Washington struggled with turnovers and poor shooting, converting just 38% of their field goal attempts compared to Toronto’s 52%.

With the loss, the Wizards now face the possibility of tying their franchise-worst losing streak in their next game. The team has not won since December 28, 2024, when they defeated the Charlotte Hornets 112-108.

Coach Brian Keefe acknowledged the team’s struggles but remained optimistic. “We’re seeing progress in certain areas, even if it’s not showing up in the win column,” he said. “Guys like Kyshawn are stepping up, and that’s encouraging.”

The Wizards will look to snap their skid Saturday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks at Capital One Arena.
