Ex-WNBA Star Liz Cambage Earns More on OnlyFans Than Entire Basketball Career
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Former WNBA star Liz Cambage has revealed that her earnings on OnlyFans surpassed her entire basketball career income within just one week. The four-time All-Star, who played for teams including the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces, now earns an estimated $1.5 million annually on the platform.
Cambage, 32, joined OnlyFans in 2021 while still playing professionally in Israel. In an interview, she stated that her decision to create content on the platform was both a financial and personal choice. “Basketball was a part of me, but it wasn’t all of me,” Cambage said. “I wanted to express another side of myself through fashion-forward, artistic, and suggestive content.”
During her WNBA career, Cambage earned a peak salary of $221,450 in 2021 with the Las Vegas Aces. Over her six-year tenure, she played for the Tulsa Shock, Dallas Wings, and Los Angeles Sparks, amassing accolades including All-WNBA First Team honors in 2018 and leading the league in scoring that same year.
Cambage’s success on OnlyFans has reignited discussions about pay disparities in professional sports. While the WNBA has seen recent growth in popularity and endorsement deals, the salary gap between female and male athletes remains significant. NBA players, for example, earn an average salary of over $10 million, while WNBA players earn a fraction of that.
Despite her financial success on OnlyFans, Cambage has not ruled out a return to basketball. “I’m not closing any doors, but right now, I’m focusing on building something new,” she said. In addition to her OnlyFans venture, Cambage continues to play professionally overseas, most recently with SiChuan Yuanada in China.
Cambage’s career highlights extend beyond the WNBA. She represented Australia in international competitions, winning a silver medal at the 2018 FIBA World Cup and a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics. She was also featured as the cover athlete for ESPN‘s Body Issue in 2019.
Her transition to OnlyFans reflects a broader trend of athletes and public figures leveraging digital platforms to monetize their personal brands. Cambage’s story underscores the evolving landscape of professional sports and the opportunities—and challenges—facing female athletes in achieving financial parity.
