The U.S. women’s gymnastics team is off to a fantastic start in the road to the 2024 Paris Olympics!

Comprising the talented Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, the team secured a top score of 172.296 during the qualification round held on Sunday.

Here’s how it works: each team has four gymnasts perform per event, and the lowest score is dropped. The eight teams with the highest total scores from five different subdivisions will move on to the finals.

After taking home a silver medal in the last Olympic games in Tokyo, the U.S. team is back and has claimed the top three all-around scores. Biles led the team with a score of 59.566, followed by Lee at 56.132 and Chiles with a score of 56.065.

Fans can mark their calendars for the women’s team final, which is set for Tuesday, July 30 at 12:15 p.m. ET, airing on NBC and Peacock. Individual finals will take place over the following days from August 1 to August 5.

This thrilling qualification day was not just about the gymnasts; it attracted a star-studded crowd in attendance as well.

Hollywood celebrities like Tom Cruise and Jessica Chastain were spotted enjoying the action, while Snoop Dogg brought his signature flair to the event. Other stars, including John Legend, Ariana Grande, and even famed director Greta Gerwig, were also present to cheer on the athletes.

During the competition, Snoop Dogg was seen dancing, while Tom Cruise took time to engage with fans, posing for selfies and signing autographs.

As for Biles, it was a big moment as this marked her return to the Olympic stage, aiming to add more medals to her already impressive collection of seven Olympic medals.

Even with some discomfort in her left leg, Biles and the team clearly demonstrated their skill and determination—solidifying their leading position for the upcoming finals.
