Wrexham Afc Sign Striker Jack Marriott From Fleetwood Town

Wrexham AFC have completed the signing of striker Jack Marriott from Fleetwood Town in a deal worth an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old forward has agreed to a contract until the end of the 2024/25 season with the North Wales club.

Born in Beverley, Marriott gained prominence while playing for Peterborough United, where he claimed the EFL Sky Bet League One Golden Boot award. His track record of success is expected to bolster Wrexham’s attacking options.

Marriott expressed his delight in joining Wrexham, highlighting the team’s performances and their upward trajectory as key factors in his decision. Starting his professional career at Ipswich Town and later moving to Luton Town, Marriott’s outstanding performances earned him accolades such as the young player and player of the season awards at the latter club.

His successful spell at Luton Town led him to join Peterborough United, where he featured in the PFA Team of the Year after scoring an impressive 27 goals in the 2017-18 season. Marriott’s contributions also helped Derby County secure a place in the 2019 Championship Play-Off Final.

After his time at Derby County, Marriott had a brief return to Peterborough United before signing for Fleetwood Town in January 2023. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson expressed his satisfaction with the signing, emphasizing Marriott’s experience at a higher level and his potential contributions to the team in the second half of the season.
