Ryan Hardie Wrexham Championship Transfer

Wrexham, England – Wrexham AFC has signed forward Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle, the club announced on June 16, 2025. The 28-year-old signed a three-year contract, making him the first addition for Wrexham as they prepare for their first Championship season in 43 years.

Hardie joins Wrexham after five successful years at Plymouth where he scored 74 goals in 248 appearances. The Scottish international previously played for Rangers before moving to Blackpool and then to Plymouth on loan before making the move permanent.

“To get a full pre-season will be a massive benefit,” Hardie said. “I’m really happy to get it done so early and cannot wait to get going,” he added, emphasizing the importance of learning the manager’s system and getting to know his new teammates.

During his time at Plymouth, Hardie scored 10 goals in the Championship last season. His notable achievements include scoring a penalty that knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup last season.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson expressed his delight in signing Hardie, stating, “We’re looking forward to working with him and I’m sure everyone will give him a warm welcome to the STōK Cae Ras.” Hardie’s signing comes as Wrexham looks to strengthen their squad, especially in light of recent player departures.

With a strong scoring record, Hardie is expected to enhance Wrexham’s attacking options as they step into a higher level of competition. He has two years of Championship experience, scoring 22 goals in 61 starts during his tenure with Plymouth.

Wrexham aims to assemble a competitive team for the upcoming season as they navigate the challenges of the Championship.
