WWE Announces NXT Worlds Collide Event with AAA in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, California — WWE’s NXT will collaborate with Mexico’s AAA for the revival of the Worlds Collide event, scheduled for June 7 at the Kia Forum. The announcement, made by WrestleVotes, marks a significant cross-promotional partnership but has yet to be officially confirmed by WWE.
Fans have eagerly anticipated a return of the Worlds Collide event, which has become known for showcasing talent from different wrestling promotions. This year, WWE is shifting its focus from TNA Wrestling, its recent partner, to AAA, a major Mexican wrestling promotion. This collaboration represents WWE’s ongoing strategy to build relationships with diverse wrestling organizations globally.
WrestleVotes shared the news via Twitter during WWE’s Stand & Deliver event, though WWE officials did not confirm the arrangement on that platform. The Kia Forum, selected as the venue, has hosted notable events in the past, making it an appropriate location for a high-profile wrestling show.
The partnership with AAA is especially intriguing given the competitive landscape of professional wrestling. AAA’s main rival CMLL maintains a relationship with AEW, while WWE has expanded its reach into the international wrestling scene. Konnan, a prominent figure in both promotions, has often discussed the potential synergy between AAA and WWE.
WWE’s willingness to collaborate with other promotions has ramped up in recent years. The company formalized a partnership with TNA Wrestling earlier this year, allowing for talent exchanges, which have seen TNA wrestlers appear on WWE programming. Additionally, WWE has formed alliances with Japanese promotions such as NOAH and Marigold, as well as independent promotions like GCW and FSW, which hosted events featuring WWE talent just last week.
The Worlds Collide concept originally launched in January 2019 with a special that brought together WWE’s NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live talent. This initiative continued with a series of matches during WrestleMania weekend that same year. Subsequent events took place in January 2020 and September 2022, highlighting matches between NXT and NXT UK competitors.
As fans await further details about the event, the collaboration between WWE and AAA is expected to spark renewed interest in cross-promotional wrestling events and provide a platform for showcasing leading talent from both organizations.
