WWE Legends Defend Michelle McCool’s Hall of Fame Induction

LOS ANGELES, April 19, 2025 — WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has publicly endorsed Michelle McCool‘s upcoming induction into the Hall of Fame, addressing fan speculation regarding her recognition being linked to her marriage to The Undertaker. McCool, a former Divas Champion, is set to join the illustrious class of 2025, announced earlier this year.
While many fans have praised the decision, some have questioned whether her relationship with The Undertaker played a role in her induction. In an interview with wrestling journalist Bill Apter, Angle firmly defended McCool, stating, “Michelle had a great career, she had an excellent career. I think she deserves it. Whether she’s married to The Undertaker or not, she’s had a Hall of Fame career, and I think they’re right to induct her into the Hall of Fame. That’s an easy one. She’s that good.”
McCool started her WWE career in 2004, making a significant impact in women’s wrestling. She is known for being the inaugural Divas Champion, as well as a two-time WWE Women’s Champion. Her accomplishments and influence on the sport have secured her a prominent place in wrestling history.
This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will feature a robust class, including notable names such as Lex Luger and the legendary tag team The Natural Disasters, comprised of Earthquake and Typhoon. McCool’s recognition comes alongside the induction of Dory Funk Sr., Ivan Koloff, and Kamala into the Legacy Wing. Additionally, the first-ever “Immortal Moment” award will be awarded to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, celebrating his remarkable 13-match legacy.
Reports indicate that sources close to A&E noted that The Undertaker influenced the casting decision for the second season of LFG. He expressed interest in returning only if McCool could participate, highlighting their professional partnership.
The wrestling community continues to rally behind McCool as the Hall of Fame ceremony approaches, affirming her professional achievements and legacy within WWE.
