INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The WWE Royal Rumble, one of the most anticipated events in professional wrestling, returns Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The event marks the official start of the road to WrestleMania, WWE’s flagship annual spectacle.

The Royal Rumble features two signature matches: a men’s and women’s battle royal, each with 30 competitors vying for a championship opportunity at WrestleMania. Participants enter the ring at timed intervals, and the goal is to throw opponents over the top rope. The last wrestler standing in each match earns a title shot at WrestleMania, setting the stage for career-defining moments.

This year’s event will also showcase high-stakes championship matches. Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens, while the WWE Tag Team Championship will be contested in a two-out-of-three-falls match. These bouts add to the excitement of an already stacked card.

The Royal Rumble will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL‘s Indianapolis Colts. The event begins at 3 p.m. ET and will be available for streaming on WWE’s premium platforms. Internationally, fans in most markets can watch the event on Netflix.

As of now, 15 men and 10 women have been confirmed for their respective Royal Rumble matches. However, the full lineup remains a mystery, as WWE often includes surprise entrants to thrill the audience. Past events have featured returns of legendary wrestlers and debuts of rising stars, making the Royal Rumble a must-watch for fans.

The Royal Rumble is not just a wrestling event; it’s a cultural phenomenon that sets the tone for WWE’s year. With WrestleMania on the horizon, the stakes are higher than ever, and the outcomes of these matches could reshape the landscape of professional wrestling.
