WWE Stars Fight Back Against Claims of Laziness After Recent Releases

ORLANDO, Fla. — Former WWE Superstars Mandy Rose and Tino Sabbatelli spoke out against recent rumors suggesting that released talents like Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade were considered ‘lazy’ in their training. During a podcast, they addressed the impact of the rumors on the wrestling community.
Rose commented on the allegations, stating, “There are some rumors going around. One was that the people who got released weren’t putting in enough work or they were lazy. I think it’s BS because we know how it works regarding releases.” She added that being labeled lazy is unfair and not reflective of the hard work talents put in.
Sabbatelli echoed her sentiments, arguing that rumors about wrestler salaries, like Braun Strowman’s, are often used to justify releases. “They have to say something to justify the release. That’s what they do,” he said, highlighting the business model where talent cuts happen regularly.
The two also discussed how rumors can be damaging. Rose expressed frustration with false narratives circulating online. She referenced how hard athletes like Dakota Kai work to recover from injuries, emphasizing that their commitment cannot be questioned simply because of business decisions.
Dolin and Jade both responded to the allegations on social media, denying claims they were not hardworking. Dolin stated, “I trained very hard 3-4 days a week. The way my body feels says otherwise.” Jade supported her friend, adding that they pushed themselves during off-work hours as well.
These statements come in the wake of widespread cuts within WWE, which have left many in the wrestling world questioning the reasons behind the decisions. Rose, who was herself released in December 2022, noted that the scenario for each wrestler is different, depending on individual circumstances and contracts.
“Every single person who gets released is a different scenario,” Sabbatelli concluded, bringing attention to the complexities of the wrestling business.
