Wwe Referee Jessika Carr Wrestling Match

BALTIMORE, Md. — WWE has recently filed a trademark for the ring name “Kalyx,” sparking speculation among fans regarding its connection to various talent. Despite assumptions that it might pertain to NXT star Sol Ruca, whose real name is Calyx, the trademark is actually linked to referee Jessika Carr.

Carr, 33, participated in the fourth episode of WWE’s recent Evolve tapings, where she competed under a mask as Kalyx. According to reports, she and her partner began the match already in the ring, foregoing the traditional entrance. As of now, WWE has recorded a total of six episodes of Evolve, set to debut on Tubi in the U.S. on March 5, with international audiences able to watch on YouTube.

Previously known for her time on the independent circuit where she wrestled as Kennadi Brink, Carr has made significant strides in WWE since joining as a full-time referee in 2017. She became the company’s first female referee since Rita Chatterton in the 1980s. Throughout her career, Carr has officiated high-profile matches, including the King of the Ring finals between Finn Balor and Xavier Woods, as well as the bout between Edge and Seth Rollins. Carr is also notable for being the first woman to referee a match in Saudi Arabia and the first female referee to officiate inside Hell in a Cell.

While Carr has primarily served as a referee during her tenure with WWE, this new development hints at a potential dual role that could see her wrestle more in the future. Her transition back into the ring under the name Kalyx reflects her long history in wrestling prior to her refereeing career. Before joining WWE, she built a reputation on the independent scene, wrestling a variety of matches and showcasing her skills at numerous venues.

“WWE confirmed that Kalyx is not related to any upcoming talent or character changes,” noted the report from Fightful. This clarification has put fan speculation to rest and highlighted Carr’s versatile career path within the wrestling industry.

Founded by Gabe Sapolsky, Evolve was a well-regarded independent promotion that ran from 2010 to 2020 before being acquired by WWE. The revitalization of the Evolve brand aims to provide emerging Performance Center talent a platform alongside established wrestlers, contrasting with the previously existing NXT Level Up.

As anticipation builds for Evolve’s premiere next month, fans are eager to see how Jessika Carr will navigate her evolving role within WWE, potentially balancing her duties as both a referee and an in-ring competitor.
