Yana Wilson Named Brand Ambassador Ahead of Mizuho Americas Open

NEW YORK, May 06, 2025 — Mizuho Americas has officially announced Yana Wilson, the 2023 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Player of the Year and recent champion on the Epson Tour, as their new brand ambassador. Wilson, who just won her first professional title in Las Vegas, joins golf legends Michelle Wie West, Rose Zhang, and Ayaka Furue as part of ‘Team Mizuho.’
This announcement comes just ahead of the 2025 Mizuho Americas Open, scheduled from May 8-11 at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. Wilson received a sponsor exemption to participate, making history as the first player to win the tournament as a junior and return as a professional.
<p"Yana's journey from top-ranked amateur to pro has been inspiring," said Cheryl Gilberg, Chief Marketing Officer at Mizuho Americas. “Her achievements demonstrate not only her skill but her determination as well. We are excited to support her on this exciting path.”
Before joining the Epson Tour, Wilson had four AJGA victories, including winning the inaugural Mizuho Americas Open amateur tournament in 2023. After qualifying for the LPGA Q-Series, she opted to take the leap to professional golf.
“It’s an honor to join Team Mizuho alongside such accomplished golfers,” said Wilson. “I appreciate Mizuho’s dedication to providing great experiences for players, and I’m proud to represent their values in advancing women in golf.”
Mizuho Americas has also extended its title sponsorship of the Mizuho Americas Open through 2030, increasing the purse to $3.25 million for the 2026 tournament, which is among the largest outside major championships. The tournament’s unique format sees AJGA junior golfers compete alongside LPGA professionals, enhancing opportunities for the next generation.
As part of their commitment, Mizuho also focuses on mentoring through programs like the Mizuho Americas DrivHER Summit, facilitating leadership skills for young girls from underserved communities.
