Yankees Catcher Unveils ‘Wells Favurrito’ for Day Games

Bronx, New York – Fans attending day games at Yankee Stadium will soon have a new food option, thanks to Yankees catcher Austin Wells. Earlier this month, Wells started an Instagram page where he reviews burritos from various Major League Baseball cities.
On Friday, the 25-year-old faced a unique challenge: taste-testing three different burrito recipes to select one as the official stadium dish. The chosen burrito, dubbed the ‘Wells Favurrito’, features scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, Maple City fries, cheddar jack cheese, and chipotle aioli.
Wells expressed enthusiasm for his creation, saying, ‘That is unbelievable. The maple is a great touch,’ as he savored a bite of the winning burrito.
Among the competing options were a burrito packed with scrambled eggs, tater tots, caramelized onion bacon jam, bacon strips, American cheese, and 99 burger sauce, along with another containing scrambled eggs, chorizo, tater tots, pickled jalapenos, cheddar jack cheese, and fire-roasted salsa.
The Wells Favurrito will be available for fans during day games in sections 110, 217, and 321 at Yankee Stadium. This new food offering comes as Wells sports a batting average of .206, with five home runs and 17 runs batted in so far this season.
