Austin Wells New York Yankees Catcher Mlb

BRONX, N.Y. — New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells is back in the lineup as the Yankees face the Baltimore Orioles on Monday, April 28. Wells had a rest day on Sunday but is now set to play at Yankee Stadium, starting in the sixth position in the batting order.

This season marks an exciting time for the Yankees as they enter the 2025 MLB regular season. Following a strong run last year, where they finished 94-68 and reached the World Series, the team is eager to make another championship bid.

The Yankees, coming off a disappointing five-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, lost key player for a record-breaking $765 million to another team this offseason. Despite these changes, manager Aaron Boone is optimistic. “We have a solid roster with leaders like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton,” Boone said. “I believe our new acquisitions will help elevate our performance.”

New additions this season include outfielder Cody Bellinger, along with other notable players. The Yankees will kick off their season at home against the Milwaukee Brewers on Mar. 27, with their regular season broadcast primarily on YES Network.

As they prepare for the challenges ahead, Yankees fans are hopeful for a successful season. “The energy in the Bronx is electric,” said a team spokesperson. “We are ready to compete and bring home another championship.”
