SunRisers Hyderabad‘s 20-year-old prodigy, Nitish Kumar Reddy, set the stage on fire with a blazing knock of 64 runs off 37 balls, marking his debut T20 half-century in the IPL clash against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur.

Hailing from Visakhapatnam, Nitish Reddy proved his mettle as a key player for SRH as he rose to the occasion when top-order batsmen like Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Aiden Markram succumbed to the Punjab bowlers.

Impressing the cricketing world with his exceptional gameplay, Reddy showcased remarkable shot-making skills, including a stunning hook shot off the fiery Kagiso Rabada that left fans in awe.

Coming in to bat at No. 4, Reddy provided a much-needed rescue act for SRH, who were reeling at 64 for 4 after Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, and Harshal Patel wreaked havoc in the first ten overs.

With a composed start to his innings, Reddy gradually accelerated and unleashed a flurry of boundaries and sixes, notably targeting bowlers like Harpreet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, and Sam Curran in his ruthless onslaught.

Reddy’s journey from his breakout at the BCCI awards to his recent dominance in the IPL has been a testament to his perseverance and skill development, transitioning from an opening batter to a formidable batting all-rounder with medium-pace bowling capabilities.

Following his stellar performances in the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Andhra, Reddy’s impact in the IPL 2024 season has solidified his position in the SRH lineup, where he continues to dazzle with his maturity and flair in pressure situations.
