Young Talent Jamie Humphreys Signs with South Sydney Rabbitohs After Impressive NRL Debut

Young rugby league talent Jamie Humphreys has inked a two-year deal with the South Sydney Rabbitohs following his standout NRL debut with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. The promising 22-year-old utility player showcased his skills at 4 Pines Park against the Newcastle Knights before making the switch to the Rabbitohs.

Rabbitohs’ Head of Football, Mark Ellison, expressed the club’s long-standing admiration for Humphreys’ playing style and strong work ethic. Ellison highlighted Humphreys’ versatility in positions like hooker and halfback, making him a valuable asset for the Rabbitohs’ lineup in the upcoming seasons.

Humphreys, a product of the NSW Cup‘s Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, has impressed with his performance, tallying four tries, seven assists, and 28 goals in 16 games this year. With a total of 29 NSW Cup appearances under his belt, Humphreys’ skills as a five-eighth, halfback, and hooker have earned him recognition within the league.

Having also clinched the Jersey Flegg Cup Players’ Player award in 2023 while at the Sea Eagles, Humphreys is poised to bring his talents to the Rabbitohs’ pre-season starting in November. The strategic signing marks a significant career progression for the young player in the renowned red and green jersey of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
