MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Edey left Monday’s match against the Denver Nuggets after just six minutes due to a migraine headache.

The Grizzlies (6-12) are set to face the Pelicans (3-15) at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, starting at 7:10 p.m. CST. This game kicks off a four-game road trip for Memphis, which aims to rebound after their recent loss to the Nuggets.

In Edey’s absence on Wednesday, teammates Jock Landale and Santi Aldama could see increased playing time. Memphis coach said, “We need to step up collectively if Zach can’t go.”

This game marks the second of four matchups this season between Memphis and New Orleans. The Grizzlies won the first encounter 128-122 on October 22, led by 35 points from Ja Morant, who remains sidelined with a calf strain.

The Pelicans are struggling, having lost their first six games this season and currently hold the worst record in the Western Conference. Notably, Memphis won all four matchups with New Orleans last season and has a four-game win streak in the Big Easy.

Zion Williamson, who led the Pelicans with 27 points in the last encounter, will be crucial for New Orleans as they aim to improve their standing. “Every game counts for us going forward,” Williamson said ahead of the matchup.

With the stakes high and both teams looking to establish momentum, fans eagerly await the final decision on Edey’s availability.
