Harris County and Brazoria County Primary Runoff Election Results Revealed

In the recent 2024 primary runoff elections, voters in Harris County and Brazoria County turned out to choose candidates vying for various positions. In Harris County, residents in Congressional District 7 and Congressional District 29 had the opportunity to cast their ballots. Meanwhile, all Democratic voters in Harris County participated in countywide contests, including the selection of the Harris Appraisal District Director Place 2A.

The primary runoff elections are essential when no candidate secures enough votes during the primary election. The winners from these runoffs will represent their respective parties in the upcoming November general election. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m. on Election Day in both counties.

Among the notable results in Harris County, the race in Congressional District 7 saw Candidate A securing 56% of the votes, while Candidate B garnered 44%. Similarly, in Congressional District 29, Candidate X received 62% of the votes, surpassing Candidate Y who got 38%.

In Brazoria County, the focus was on the Republican Party contests. Specifically, in the Texas State House District 29 race, Jeffrey Barry and Alex Kamkar went head-to-head. Ultimately, Barry emerged victorious with 62% of the votes, defeating Kamkar who received 38%. Additionally, the Brazoria County Commissioner Precinct 1 race featured Jay Burridge and David Thacker, with Burridge clinching the win with 62% of the votes against Thacker’s 38%.
