During the ongoing European Championships coverage, Ally McCoist shared amusing insights into his interactions with fellow pundit Roy Keane while working for ITV.

According to McCoist, Keane has been rather elusive on the ITV WhatsApp group, often leaving the crew hanging without responses.

Despite being colleagues at the tournament in Germany, Keane’s limited activity on the group chat doesn’t come as a shock to McCoist.

McCoist humorously mentioned that he doesn’t receive many responses or ‘blue ticks’ from Keane, alluding to Keane’s selective engagement on the platform.

Recently, Keane publicly apologized to Harry Maguire for what he deemed as ‘crossing the line’ with his critique of the Manchester United player.

Keane expressed regret for his harsh remarks towards Maguire, particularly after a tough period for the defender at both club and international levels.

Following a heavy defeat suffered by United against Liverpool in October 2021, Keane had criticized Maguire and his teammate Luke Shaw, labeling their performance as disgraceful.

Keane admitted to meeting Maguire in person a few months ago to offer his apology for his past comments, acknowledging the impact of personal criticisms on players.

Keane, currently working as a pundit for ITV at Euro 2024, opened up about the impact of media scrutiny on his own family during his playing career.

Reflecting on the consequences of harsh criticism, Keane emphasized the responsibility pundits have in maintaining a level of professionalism and respect towards players.

While discussing potential encounters with former international teammates, Keane light-heartedly joked about not wanting to run into some of them, hinting at lingering tensions from his playing days.
