Kings Prepare for Game 4 After Tough Loss in Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta — The Los Angeles Kings returned to the rink Saturday morning for a light skate, reflecting on their Game 3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Goalie Darcy Kuemper, captain Anze Kopitar, and defenseman Joel Edmundson spoke to the media following practice, analyzing the team’s performance and their strategy for the next game.
Kuemper discussed the offensive play from both teams over the first three games of the series. He emphasized the Kings’ need to improve their third-period performance and shared his thoughts on how well the team responded at the start of the match. “We need to start stronger and carry that energy throughout the game,” Kuemper said.
Kopitar, who leads the series with a 2-1 advantage, reflected on the team’s composure after trailing 2-0 early in Game 3. He acknowledged Edmonton’s aggressive start and emphasized the importance of maintaining focus moving forward. “We showed resilience, but we can’t let them dictate the play,” he stated.
Edmundson addressed the unexpected offensive trends in the series, noting the discipline the Kings have maintained. He outlined the team’s plan to minimize Edmonton’s scoring opportunities. “It’s critical that we limit their chances, especially given their firepower,” Edmundson explained.
Head coach Jim Hiller also shared insights with the media. He discussed his decision to challenge a late goal by Edmonton in Game 3 and what the team learned from that experience. Hiller stressed the need for the Kings to regroup and prepare for Game 4. “We need to take the lessons from this last game and channel that into our preparation,” he said.
