Stars Shine at 2025 SI Swimsuit Launch Party in New York

New York City, NY – The 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party lit up the Hard Rock Hotel on May 15, featuring a star-studded red carpet with prominent models and cover stars.
Salma Hayek, Olivia Dunne, Jordan Chiles, and Lauren Chan all showcased their distinctive styles and voices as they celebrated their achievements in the latest issue. Hayek, who claimed her first-ever SI cover at age 58, expressed her pride in representing women of all ages and emphasized the power of embracing unexpected opportunities.
“It feels great,” Hayek said. “Sometimes life gives you unexpected, delicious moments that you can be afraid of, but if you go for the unexpected adventures, it keeps you full of energy and young.”
Chan, the first lesbian woman to appear on the SI Swimsuit cover, hopes her presence will inspire others in the LGBTQ community. “I hope this will inspire people,” she stated.
Dunne, a former Olympic gymnast, reflected on her swift ascent in the fashion industry, saying, “I feel the most confident in myself than I’ve ever been.” Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles also shared her feelings about being part of this celebrated moment, admitting, “I never thought in a million years I’d be in this position.”
Roshumba Williams, a trailblazer who first appeared in the magazine in 1990, walked the carpet in a silver backless gown designed by LaQuan Smith. She highlighted the importance of diversity in beauty standards, saying, “I was in disbelief that someone that looked like me was considered a standard of beauty.”
The event celebrated the innovative spirit of the magazine, showcasing how it represents various identities and body types, while also shedding light on the impact of age and confidence in the modeling industry. The official magazine is currently available online and set to hit newsstands on May 17.
