Bianca Andreescu Tennis Match Results

PARIS, FranceBianca Andreescu made a powerful return to Grand Slam tennis, winning her first qualifying match at Roland Garros by defeating China’s Yao Xinxin 6-0, 6-0 on May 19, 2025. This marked the first 6-0, 6-0 victory of Andreescu’s professional career.

The former US Open champion triumphed in just 57 minutes, showcasing dominance throughout the match. “I felt really good coming here,” said Andreescu. “It’s the French Open — no matter what match you play in whatever draw, it’s a very important match. I was very pleased with my attitude today.”

Andreescu, currently ranked No. 102, reached the fourth round at the Rome Open last week, highlighting her recent return to form after struggles with injuries and illness. By winning against Yao, she advanced to face former No. 56 Nao Hibino, who also emerged victorious in her opener.

The match featured a significant experience gap. Yao, ranked No. 261, was making her debut in a Grand Slam qualifying event, while Andreescu relied on her prior success, including reaching the second round in her last major appearance at the Australian Open in 2019.

On the same day, local French players showed resilience. Margaux Rouvroy defeated Japan’s Haruka Kaji in a nail-biting match that lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes, while Carole Monnet overcame Croatia’s Petra Martic from a set and 3-1 down.

Andreescu’s victory builds momentum as she aims for a successful main draw at Roland Garros, which begins on May 25 through June 8, 2025. Fans will be keen to see how she performs as she looks to regain her top-tier status in women’s tennis.
