Caitlin Clark Wnba Season Opener

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Caitlin Clark, the star guard for the Indiana Fever, is already making waves in her second season with impressive performances that have resulted in new records. Just two games into the season, Clark showcased her talents with a triple-double against the Chicago Sky, contributing 20 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in a commanding 93-58 win.

In her second game, a close match against the Atlanta Dream, Clark tallied 27 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds. With this performance, she broke the record for the most games in WNBA history with 25 or more points and 10 or more assists, achieving this in only 42 career games.

“It’s just about playing our game and trusting each other,” said Clark after the game. She now has six such performances in her career, highlighting her rapid rise in the league.

The Fever’s season is off to a rocky start despite Clark’s brilliance. In their recent loss to the Dream, the team struggled at the free-throw line, making only 16 of 26 attempts, which ultimately cost them the game. Natasha Howard experienced challenges, missing crucial free throws in the fourth quarter.

Aaliyah Boston, another key player for the Fever, also performed well with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell added another 24 points. The Fever hope to improve as they continue into the season.

Looking ahead, the Fever will face the Atlanta Dream again on Thursday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be available to stream on Prime Video. Clark continues to draw attention, and her performances are not only improving her team but also extending the reach of the WNBA.

As excitement builds for the upcoming game, the Fever are looking to build on Clark’s record-setting start and return to form against their rivals.
