Twins and Rays Face Off in Tampa Bay Spring Training Series

TAMPA, Fla. — The Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays, both on winning streaks, will meet for a three-game series at George M. Steinbrenner Field starting Monday evening.
The series opener will feature Twins RHP Chris Paddack (2-4, 3.98 ERA) facing Rays RHP Zack Littell (3-5, 4.25) at 6:05 p.m. ET. On Tuesday, Twins RHP Joe Ryan (4-2, 2.68 ERA) is scheduled to pitch against Rays RHP Taj Bradley (4-3, 4.61). The final game of the series will take place on Wednesday, with Twins RHP Pablo López (4-2, 2.31 ERA) facing Rays RHP Drew Rasmussen (3-4, 2.60).
The Twins have been performing well, holding a record of 29-23 as they embark on a 10-game road trip while their home stadium undergoes repairs following Hurricane Milton. The team has been especially strong recently, going 16-5 this month, with notable success against AL East teams, boasting an 8-1 record against them this season.
Injuries have impacted the Twins, as LHP Danny Coulombe has been out due to a left forearm muscle strain since May 15. Additionally, infielder Carlos Correa is recovering from a concussion sustained in a collision on the same date and is expected to return soon.
The Rays, currently riding a five-game winning streak, have won 10 of their last 15 games. They concluded a successful homestand with a commanding 13-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays and now hope to build on their momentum. The team stands at 16-18 in their temporary home.
Second baseman Brandon Lowe is a key player for the Rays, currently on an eight-game hitting streak and coming off a stellar performance where he went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run on Sunday.
Looking ahead, the Rays are aiming to steady their performance against teams from the American League Central after suffering a previous three-game sweep against the Kansas City Royals in late April.
As the action unfolds in Tampa, both teams have a lot at stake with potential playoff implications looming as the season progresses.
