Louisville, Miami Battle in NCAA Super Regional Showdown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Miami Hurricanes and University of Louisville Cardinals are set for a high-stakes clash in Game 2 of the NCAA Super Regionals at 11 a.m. today. Both teams have made previous trips to the College World Series (CWS), with Louisville most recently appearing in 2019.
Last night, Louisville claimed a strong victory against Miami, winning Game 1 of the Super Regional 8-1, backed by exceptional pitching from Patrick Forbes. The Cardinals capitalized on key moments, scoring five runs in the fourth inning alone.
The Hurricanes and Cardinals are both unseeded in the tournament, having upset higher-ranked teams in the regional round. Miami slapped down No. 16 seed Southern Miss, while Louisville took down the top-seeded Vanderbilt.
In Game 1, Miami struggled to convert scoring opportunities despite a few timely hits and four doubles throughout the game. The team has not made an appearance in the CWS since 2016, while Louisville looks to return after a three-year absence.
Miami will start AJ Ciscar on the mound. The freshman right-hander has a 6-1 record and a 3.78 ERA for the season, aiming to bounce back after last night’s defeat.
On the other hand, Louisville’s Tucker Biven will take the hill, coming into the matchup with a perfect 3-0 record. He has struck out 31 batters over 35 innings this season.
The winner of this best-of-three series will earn one of eight spots in the College World Series in Omaha next week. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates and live scoring during today’s thrilling matchup.
