Jazz Chisholm Hits Milestone in Yankees’ Victory Over Red Sox

BOSTON — Jazz Chisholm Jr. achieved a significant milestone, hitting his 30th home run of the season and securing the coveted 30/30 status during a 5-3 victory against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.
With this home run, Chisholm becomes only the third Yankee to reach the 30/30 mark, joining the ranks of Bobby Bonds (1975) and Alfonso Soriano (2002 and 2003). Chisholm, already boasting 30 stolen bases, reached this feat during his 162nd game with the Yankees.
“All I want to do is help the team win, and I felt like I did that today,” Chisholm said after his three-hit performance.
The Yankees were down early but rallied back, powered by Chisholm’s multi-hit game, which also included a two-run score that put the team ahead. The Yankees were able to capitalize off Red Sox pitcher Brayan Bello, who had dominated them in previous encounters.
Manager Aaron Boone praised Chisholm’s contributions, noting that his numbers would have been even better if not for injuries earlier in the season. Chisholm has battled an oblique strain as well as injuries to his foot and groin.
“It’s really impressive,” Boone said about Chisholm nearing the 30/30 milestone, referring to his dynamic playing style and advocate for his health and performance.
The Yankees captured the win and a crucial series victory over the Red Sox, placing them 2.5 games ahead of Boston in the AL wild card standings. With only 14 games remaining in the regular season, Chisholm expressed the team’s urgency to improve their standings.
“We’re not here to play around,” he stated confidently.
The Yankees have shown a recent resurgence, boasting the best record in baseball since August 6, and are positioned to contend for the division title as the season approaches its climax.
