Stanford Volleyball Secures Back-to-Back Wins at Home

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 4 Stanford Cardinal volleyball team achieved significant victories over the weekend, first defeating Hawaii and then Texas State. They took on Hawaii on Friday, sweeping them 25-19, 25-18, 25-20 at Maples Pavilion.

Stanford (7-2) showcased their skill with a hitting percentage of .262, while restricting Hawaii (4-5) to .179. The match marked Stanford’s first home victory against Hawaii since 1997, and they also set a season record with 64 digs.

Leading the Cardinal was a senior player who recorded 16 kills with a .382 hitting percentage, achieving her third double-double of the season. Another standout was the middle blocker, who earned a career-high 12 kills with an impressive .647 attack percentage.

The following day, Stanford continued their winning streak with an impressive performance against Texas State, hitting a season-high .422. The Cardinal swept the Bobcats 25-20, 25-15, 25-18, extending their home match-winning streak to 18 games.

The match saw performances like the middle blocker scoring a match-high 10 kills with a .562 hitting percentage. The setter efficiently led the offense with 36 assists, as the team totalled 45 kills.

Stanford will continue their non-conference schedule on Sunday when they host UCLA at 3 p.m. prior to the Hawaii and Texas State match at 11 a.m.
