Dodgers Pitching Rotation Nlcs

MILWAUKEE — The Los Angeles Dodgers will start Tyler Glasnow in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) against the Milwaukee Brewers, followed by Shohei Ohtani in Game 4. Manager Dave Roberts announced the decision before Tuesday’s Game 2.

Glasnow last took the mound on Thursday, delivering six scoreless innings in the division series’ Game 4 clincher against the Cincinnati Reds. Ohtani, on the other hand, has not pitched since Oct. 4, when he allowed three runs over six innings during the wild-card round.

In addition to his pitching duties, Ohtani has served as the Dodgers’ leadoff hitter and designated hitter in all postseason games since his last start. The team’s pitching order may allow him to take on yet another role this postseason.

“Shohei has been fine with rest,” Roberts said. “Potentially lines him up if we need a Game 7 out of the pen.” Glasnow has also pitched in relief this October, allowing no runs in 1⅔ innings as a relief pitcher for Ohtani against Cincinnati.

“Game 3, we feel that Tyler is on regular rest, so it kind of lines him up as well,” Roberts added. “All these things just made sense.”

The Dodgers secured a 1-0 lead in the NLCS with a narrow 2-1 victory at American Family Field on Monday. Games 3 and 4 are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Dodger Stadium, as the defending champions aim to return to the World Series for the fifth time in nine seasons.

Meanwhile, the Brewers have not yet announced their pitching plans for Game 3 or Game 4.
