STILLWATER, Okla. — Brendan Sorsby led No. 24 Cincinnati to a decisive 49-17 victory over Oklahoma State during Homecoming on Saturday night at Boone Pickens Stadium. This win marks Cincinnati’s sixth consecutive victory and improves their overall record to 6-1, including 4-0 in Big 12 play.

After Cincinnati’s early touchdown, Oklahoma State attempted to respond but struggled. Logan Ward kicked a 40-yard field goal, narrowing the score to 7-3 late in the first quarter. However, Cincinnati quickly regained momentum, with Sorsby throwing three first-half touchdown passes, leading to a 28-10 halftime advantage.

Cincinnati’s Cyrus Allen was instrumental in the Bearcats’ win, scoring two touchdowns and contributing significantly in the team’s running game. Joe Royer also had a standout performance with a 27-yard touchdown reception. The Bearcats showcased a balanced offense that gained 427 yards during the game.

Oklahoma State’s Rodney Fields Jr. provided a bright spot for the Cowboys, rushing for a career-high 163 yards and scoring one touchdown. However, the Cowboys are now 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference, struggling through their sixth consecutive loss.

The game shifted in the fourth quarter when Matthew McDoom intercepted a pass from Sam Jackson V and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown, marking the longest interception return in Cincinnati’s history.

Oklahoma State’s interim head coach Doug Meacham acknowledged the struggles, noting the need to minimize minor mistakes that have led to significant setbacks. Despite the loss, the Cowboy fanbase showed undeterred spirit, with fans energetically supporting their team throughout the game.

Next week, Oklahoma State will aim to turn their season around against Texas Tech, while Cincinnati is set to host Baylor as they continue to chase higher bowl aspirations.
