Kyle Kuzma Leaves Game with Ankle Injury as Bucks Defeat Raptors
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma will not return to Friday’s match against the Toronto Raptors due to a left ankle sprain. The injury occurred early in the fourth quarter when Kuzma attempted to contest a shot, landing awkwardly on his ankle.
The 30-year-old Kuzma played 18 minutes, scoring nine points, along with one steal and one block, shooting 4-of-5 from the field. His quick departure left teammates and fans concerned about the seriousness of the injury, which remains unclear at this time.
Despite Kuzma’s exit, the Bucks secured a 122-116 victory, improving their record to 2-0 for the season after previous win over the Washington Wizards. The team is preparing to face the Cleveland Cavaliers next, and Kuzma’s status may significantly impact their lineup.
According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Kuzma is listed on the injury report for Sunday’s game. Head coach Doc Rivers stated, “A sprain, not a bad one. He actually tried to do some running before they just pulled him out. Probably day-to-day.”
Kuzma has been a key player for the Bucks since joining the team last season during a trade that sent Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards. In his first two games this season, Kuzma is averaging 10.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks, shooting 60 percent from the field.
As the Bucks navigate the early part of the season, fans will eagerly await updates on Kuzma’s recovery and potential return to the lineup.
