Serena Williams Podcast Witchcraft Rumor

New York, NY – Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, recently revealed a shocking accusation made against her during her career as she spoke on her podcast, “Stockton Street.” The episode featured American singer Ciara and focused on wild rumors in the sport.

Williams, who hosts the podcast with her sister, Venus Williams, shared that a fellow player on the WTA Tour once accused her of practicing “witchcraft.” The anonymous player claimed Williams used “black magic” to maintain her winning streak against her.

“The craziest thing I ever heard about me was that I did witchcraft and black magic because I was beating some girl,” Serena recalled. “So she claimed that we did black magic to beat her from what I understand.” Serena also mentioned similar accusations against Venus, involving claims about consulting a “black magician.”

Throughout her career, Williams won a total of 39 Grand Slam titles, including 23 in singles. She achieved the World No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles and earned four Olympic medals. Her contribution to the sport has left a lasting legacy.

After retiring from professional tennis in 2022, following her last appearance at the US Open, Williams received significant recognition this month. The Spanish Royal Family honored her with the 2025 Princess of Asturias Award for Sports, an accolade previously given to sports legends like Rafael Nadal and Steffi Graf.

The award ceremony took place at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo, Spain, and was attended by members of the Spanish royal family including Crown Princess Leonor. Following the event, Williams shared photos of her stunning outfit on social media.
