Pakistan Aims to Bounce Back Against South Africa in 2nd T20I
Lahore, Pakistan — Pakistan’s cricket team is determined to recover from a disappointing defeat as they face South Africa in the second T20I of their three-match series at Gaddafi Stadium on October 31, 2025. After losing the first match by 55 runs, Pakistan will look to even the series with a strong performance.
Captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and opted to bowl first, hoping to exploit the conditions in Lahore. “It looks like a bit slow and dew will make it better in the second innings,” Agha said. He acknowledged that South Africa outplayed them in the previous match and emphasized the need to start fresh.
South Africa’s captain Donovan Ferreira reflected on their approach, stating, “We were looking to bat first, and it has worked in our favor. However, we need to correct our performance after losing wickets in clusters in the last match.”
In the opening T20I, Pakistan struggled, with notable batsman Babar Azam getting out for a duck. Despite a valiant effort from Saim Ayub, who scored 37 runs, the team fell short of the target of 194 set by South Africa, led by Reeza Hendricks with a score of 60.
As the match commenced, Pakistan made a brilliant start by dismissing two key South African players early in their innings. Salman Mirza, the Pakistani pacer, took crucial wickets, putting South Africa under pressure. By the 10th over, South Africa was struggling at 66 for 6, showcasing Pakistan’s improved bowling attack.
The second T20I is being streamed live on the Sports TV channel on YouTube, allowing fans to follow the action as the two teams battle for supremacy. The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM IST.
Both teams are eager for a win, with Pakistan seeking redemption and South Africa aiming to secure the series.
