Bears Lose D’Andre Swift Ahead of Bengals Showdown
CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears will face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday without running back D’Andre Swift. Swift has been sidelined due to a groin injury, which he sustained in Week 6 against the Washington Commanders.
Swift did not participate in practice from Wednesday through Friday. This marks the first time this season that he is listed as DNP (Did Not Practice) for three consecutive days. Swift has played in the Bears’ last few games against New Orleans and Baltimore but will miss his first game since joining the team in 2024.
Rookie Kyle Monangai is set to take over as the Bears’ lead rusher in Swift’s absence. The team will also be without another running back, Roschon Johnson, who is dealing with a back injury.
Head coach Matt Eberflus expressed confidence in Monangai stepping up for the team. “Kyle has shown he can handle the pressure, and we trust him to perform,” Eberflus said.
The Bears will look to adapt their game plan as they prepare for the Bengals on Sunday. Coach Eberflus added, “We need to find ways to get our offensive rhythm going, regardless of personnel.”
As the team gears up for the matchup, the absence of Swift could affect Chicago’s run game significantly. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the team adjusts against Cincinnati.
