Dodgers Win Marathon Game 3 Against Blue Jays
LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 in a historic 18-inning World Series game early Tuesday morning, taking a two games to one lead in the best-of-seven series.
In a thrilling, back-and-forth battle, the Dodgers relied on their two-way superstar, Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani contributed significantly with three RBIs and three runs scored in an incredible performance that included four hits and two home runs, allowing him to reach base safely an astonishing nine times.
The game concluded with a dramatic walk-off home run from Freddie Freeman in the 18th inning. Freeman, who won the World Series MVP in 2024, secured the victory for the Dodgers in what matched the longest game in World Series history.
Historically, when teams split the first two games in a World Series, the winner of Game 3 has gone on to win the championship 67% of the time. With this victory, the Dodgers head into Game 4 with a notable advantage.
The next game will be played at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, with Ohtani expected to pitch for the Dodgers. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday.
