Cj Hines Basketball Eligibility Review

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The NCAA is currently reviewing Temple University men’s basketball guard CJ Hines for potential eligibility issues stemming from events prior to his enrollment.

The announcement came from Temple on Wednesday afternoon. Due to the ongoing review, Hines will not participate in any athletic competition, including the season opener against Delaware State on Wednesday night.

Hines transferred to Temple after spending two seasons at Alabama State University and three years at Faulkner University. He has amassed a total of 2,318 points throughout his college career, and was anticipated to be a key scorer for the Owls this season.

Recent success at Alabama State includes leading the team to the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament last season and being named the tournament MVP. Hines also started every game last season, including two NCAA Tournament games.

This situation is still developing, and more updates will be provided as they become available.
