Garrick Higgo Golf Championship Mexico

LOS CABOS, Mexico – The World Wide Technology Championship kicks off this week at El Cardonal at Diamante, featuring top players like Garrick Higgo. After finishing T7, second solo, and T4 in previous FedExCup Fall events, Higgo enters the tournament as one of the favorites.

The event starts on November 4 and serves as the first of the final three tournaments of the season. It offers players a final chance to secure their standings for next year. Each stroke is critical as competitors vie for high finishes, which can solidify or improve their future status.

El Cardonal is known for its wide fairways and large greens, promoting aggressive play. Last year’s tournament saw an average score of 70.256 due to unfavorable windy conditions initially. This week’s forecast predicts mild winds and sunny skies, conditions that could lead to lower scores.

The course, designed by Tiger Woods, has no rough, asking players to focus on shot placement rather than distance. The greens are expected to be slick, running at 11 feet on the Stimpmeter, making accuracy on approach vital for success.

While past performances at El Cardonal may not directly correlate with future success, only one player has finished in the top 10 during both previous tournaments. However, Higgo’s recent form suggests he could be one who performs well on this course.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity at El Cardonal,” Higgo said. “The conditions look promising, and I feel like my game is in great shape.”

With significant rankings and FedExCup points on the line, players are eager to impress. As the tournament approaches, all eyes will be on Higgo and the competitive field looking to break through as the season winds down.
